| Report ~ Wedding Lisa & Mick Aldridge, 17 March, 2007 Well, there’s one thing you can be of assured of if you are a member of the NSWTC, you’ll always lead an exciting life! As you all know Mick & Lisa were married on Saturday, 17 March in Windsor. Bob’s Torrie, together with mine, were invited to be involved in the bridal party, along with Mick’s Green Machine. The gathering point for Bob’s Torrie and my Torrie was at Glenwood under a darkening sky to collect the bridesmaids. The Torries looked absolutely fantastic having been preened and pampered over the previous weeks and with their wedding ribbon in place. Bob and Greg, as Committee Members, decided it was their duty to inspect the bride-to-be for the day to ensure that she would represent the NSWTC to the high standards we would expect. Well, wow wee, Lisa was an absolute vision as she appeared in the doorway, at which point Bob and I reassured her, “No, it’s not too late, and are you sure you want him”? After loading the wedding party into the bridal car and Torries, off we headed towards Windsor for an uneventful trip to the church. Hello, this is the NSWTC; nothing is uneventful! After approximately 5 kms the President’s white/black Torrie had decided that the girls were getting too much attention in the back and that it would implode its clutch cable to redivert the attention back onto itself. FANTASTIC STUFF! A quick reloading into Bob’s L34 and it was off to the church leaving one very sad and sorry looking white/black Torrie, let alone the owner, on the side of Old Windsor Road. Enough whinging and onto better things. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind and Mick and Lisa very unselfishly contributed to the drought relief by letting it bucket down on their special day. However, this did not effect the emotions of the day and after a very touching ceremony with an obviously besotted groom we congratulated the newly married Mr and Mrs Michael Aldridge. A great night was had by all at the reception (where one very upset Torrie owner drowned his sorrows, and his good mate, Bob, joined in as good mates do!). After a night of fine food, fine wine and dancing it was time for the couple to head on their way to the start of their honeymoon in a very smick looking hot rod organised as a surprise for Lisa by Mick. We would like to thank Mike Holland for making a wedding card to give to the happy couple from the NSWTC, which can be viewed in the photo gallery section. The Club also gave a small gift to Mick & Lisa’s wishing well. The cat is out of the bag that we will soon have an addition to the NSWTC and a baby seat shall be seen in the back of the Green Machine before too long. Strewth Mick, you don’t muck around do ya? Congratulations guys. Lexa, Bob & I felt very privileged to be a part of Mick & Lisa’s special day and wish them a lifetime of happiness and Torrie driving. Click HERE for pics of the event. |
