This is Lexa’s first car, a red SS LX Hatch, 253 auto, with factory air and power steering. It was purchased in 1982 from the original owner with 40,000 km on the clock for purchase price of $4000.00.

Lexa had owned the car until 1985 when it was T-boned by a guy driving a GT Falcon ute who was running late for work and had driven straight through a stop sign. The impact spun the car 180 degrees which then continued on forcing Lexa to apply the brake. The Torry was a write-off because the chassis was bent, as back then, the technology was not available to straighten and repair such damage. Lexa was six months pregnant at the time, and miraculously, escaped unhurt.

Years later, Greg was at the RTA and spotted the Torry repaired and met the guy who was the current owner who told Greg he couldn't wait to register the Torry and sell it because at speeds over 80 km/h it was all over the road.

Greg says he estimates the market value of this car conservatively now, for if it were left unmolested, at $25,000.00. 05 July 2006.
